I'm thinking about switching from my Time Warner Earthlink cable internet to Verizon DSL. Time Warner cable has become very unreliable for me, the internet has to be reset every few days, even with an amplifier installed.
can you test your speed for me at www.speedtest.net ? It's only going to take 15-30 seconds.
Cable is fast, but I'm willing to settle for something slower if it's more reliable. Hopefully not that much slower though.

Test xbox live speed?
Is anybody else getting lag on Xbox live? I have been doing xbox live sense halo 3 came out (played Halo 3 for a month, now Call of Duty 4 sense then). Call of duty 4 has played fine with no lag most of the times. every so often my internet would go down (Qwest DSL).
But the last couple of times (last night, and Saturday) the lag has been really bad. I start a game fine, but then 4 or 5 times during a match it well start to loose connection. I reset my gateway that the xbox connected straight to. It gets a little better but still some lag problems. I can't figure out what is causing it. I do an Internet test on my computer, and I'm getting my 1.2 mbs but usually only 500 kbs upload. (even though i signed up for 1.5, and 7 upload)
I would think this is good enough? I'm thinking its my upload speed but I'm trying to figure out if there is a way for me to test xbox live connection? I'm guessing not???????????|||Yea lag all the time on Live its because they havn't updated it. They still allow original xboxes on the same connection so it slows the whole system down. once those break though (they will because they were designed by microsoft with a limited life span) than everything should be more or less fine|||lag doesnt matter it the asses that care about it.|||you should be good at those speeds I have a slower connection and play lag free but i was told the the person causing the lag doesn't know because they experience the game with no lag so it might be the other people in the game. Are you getting signed out of xbox live completely

Is download speed 3.83 mbps good or bad?
this came up on internet frog speed test.i have att dsl|||It is quite good. Belive me! Visit this site to understand why.|||In relation to cable or FiOS, 3.83 mbps is extremely slow. Cable and FiOS tend to rate between 25 and 35 mbps on speed test websites.
Edit: It should be noted that these speed test results do not indicate your expected download rate of individual files off the internet.|||It is quite respectable. High speed internet is usually 1.5 as a minimum to have quick web browsing, to do heavy downloading 5 or so is nice. Where I am it can go up to 25 but have to pay a lot more.

I Have Windows Xp Home SP 3 IE7? I want Firefox?
In order to install Firefox should i uninstall IE7 or anything else in add Remove programs. I also have Verizon DSL High Speed Internet. Also I need to know A good dsl speed test because i hear Verizon is not true?|||You can't uninstall Internet Explorer- it's a part of Windows. Every time you view a help file, that's actually a stripped-down version of IE. Every time you run Windows Update, you have to use IE. Just install Firefox- browsers don't conflict with each other.

What Is The Minimum DSL Internet Speed For Xbox Live?
I have 864 Kbps Download / 160 Kbps Upload Speed.
I am wondering if that speed works on Xbox Live. I was hoping to play games like Modern Warfare 2 and Test Drive Unlimited. I already know I am inable to host but is that speed good just to like play and chat with other players? I am unable to upgrade to anything faster. I have searched the web and have seen both that it will run fine and that it will be impossible to even connect to live. Hoping to hear to someone who has from around that speed and has an xbox. Is 120. Kb/sec a slow internet download speed for Att Dsl Elite internet?
Ok I have Att Dsl Elite internet (which is the fastest) and I am downloading a game on Left 4 dead 2 on Steam. Steam says that I am download at an average of 120 Kb/sec. Is this a slow speed for the fastest connectivity available on AT%26amp;T.
I also did a test on speedtest.net and it says 3.96Mb/s, upload 0.63Mb/sec, and ping 78ms through ISB, SBC internet services.
I also live in El Paso, Texas if that helps

Highlight the "QoS Packet Scheduler" in left window.
In right window double click the "limit reservable bandwidth" setting.
On setting tab check the ENABLED item.
Where it says "Bandwidth limit %" change it to read 0 (ZERO).
Close gpedit.msc.
Effect will be immediate on many systems.. there is no need to reboot the system|||high speed dialup? what speed is your connection. there can be many things like you aren't using a filter for your phone line, etc... i use to work for DSL support where there is a number of reasons.
