I have earthlink dsl. they say the speed is around 100 mbps, but when i acutally run speed tests online, it shows that my speed range from 20kbps-65kbps. Is this normal? Why is it so slow like my dial up connection?|||Well DSL does not have speeds of 100 mbps, you may have 1 mbps, but the speeds you are showing are very very slow.....you should contact Earthlink and ask whats going on with your connection.....
Also, what site are you running the speed test on and where do you live?
You want to make sure your running the speed test on a server that is based in your country....If your in the UK and running the test from a united states based server you will get poor results.....|||first off 100mbps seems unrealistic (too high). Second, 20kbps is very slow! The normal DSL speed is between 768kbps - 3.0mbps. In some areas you can get DSL between 6.0mbps and 16mpbs. But no where near 100!|||Try restarting your modem,if these speeds persist, call your provider, for assistance|||that's not normal. try to contact your dsl provider.
