AT&T DSL slow download speed.?
So I went on AT%26amp;T's website and did the speed test thing and it says my download speed it 2.78Mb/s and .3Mb/s upload. Also, I went to speedtest.net and it said I have a download .66Mb/s and upload of .3Mb/s, lol a little difference. But if I download a game from Steam it only downloads at a max of 90 Kb/s! How can i get Steam and other things to download at at least .5 MB/s?|||Your internet service is sold to you in Bits. You seem to have a 3 MegaBit speed package from your ISP. Downloads are calculated in Bytes though. There are 8 Bits in 1 Byte. 3 (your internet speed) divided by 8 (the number of bits in a byte) equals .375. 375 KiloBytes is your maximum download speed. If you're looking to download at least 500 Kbps, you're going to need a 4 MegaBit speed package from ATT, because 4 / 8 = .500, just as you're asking for.
