Setting up Yahoo DSL high speed internet problem (Red Light)?

I have been trying to get my DSL modem to connect to the internet, but it keeps stopping during installation saying "your modem is not connected to high speed internet". The modem has a blinking red light that keeps coming back when I reboot the modem for 40 seconds. I have all the phone filters on. Alls cables are connected properly. I have registered. The connection test is failing with ADSl. Anyone know what to do?|||p.s. I am able to ask this question on the internet because I have high speed online with another company right now and I am just trying to set up the DLS before I switch to it.

i read this and the first thing i think of is Hmmmm wonder if this person has a dsl account setup yet by verizon .. if verizon ( the one giving you the yahoo dsl account ) has not called you and said your dsl is now active , nothing is gonna work . because the dsl line is not active yet|||Make sure you have your filters in the right spot. it makes a difference. you may have your modem cable and phone line backwards.|||conect modem with out filter, en deconect all phones. reset you modem one more time, if still boxin red you don.t have DSL service from local probide.some times you modem requested cat5 cable or A/O|||I had the same EXACT problem.

It ended up just being my computer!!!!

As soon as i hooked up the modem to another computer, it worked!!!!

If you have a good PC the DO NOT install the software!!!

It works better without it!!!!

Also try typing http://192.168.1.0 in a browser

You need you account password and username though.|||you need to call yahoo/att. they dont have your home hooked up to receive it yet|||Yep, sounds like you have account issues. Recheck your credentials on your DSL modem and verify they are correct. It is best to get familiar with the actual DSL modem web interface and specific configuration options from it rather then using some cheesy setup disk provided by your ISP. You'll of course need to know what your user name and password are and make sure you use the correct connection options which they'll be able to layout for you. How are you asking the question if you have no Internet?
