Why is it that we can't obtain our full internet speed?

I currently have the Verizon DSL plan for 768 kbps, but after I had run the speed test I have a download speed of 0.421 Mbps and an upload speed of 0.132 Mbps when it should be around .7 Mbps. I would like to know why the speed had decreased. Is it because I have multiple devices using the internet or should I just contact them?|||That is a little slow. Your speed test results can vary depending on the server that you are using for the test. Try a few different ones.



First try cycling power on your DSL modem and router. Unplug the power cords, then plug in the DSL modem and wait a minute or so for a Internet connection. If you're using a separate router plug it back in, reboot your computer and do a speed test. http://speedtest.net



If the speed is still abnormally slow call Verizon support.
