Hello, I need to know what a good internet speed is? I use a Mac and use AT&T for my internet and it is DSL.?

I've tested the speed on line it shows to be Download = 3.60 mbps and Upload = 0.65 mbps.|||I just checked my line and I got 5.17/0.64 -- Elite DSL, 6M/768K. I have full speed.

At 3.6/0.65 it sounds like Elite, but a little short on the down side. AT%26amp;T can only give you what you have, speeds between full speed and half speed. Check speed over weeks, and if you are normal with 3.6 maximum you may be less than full speed on your line. Does your modem tell you what your line speed is?

My modem can tell my line speed. When I first had my line I was getting 4768k/768k. I was also just having micro-filters, which means the DSL signal is splattered on all the telephone jacks. I switched to a NID splitter with the DSL run to a single jack -- and got my full 6016k/768k.

If you have less than full speed line, and are using micro-filters, a NID splitter will improve your speed.|||What is the advertised speed of the DSL plan you pay for?
