please help|||Hey,
Don't get confused mbps means megabits per second NOT MB!
It works like this..
0.56mbps = Broadband connection of 560kbps
1.6mbps = Broadband connection of 16000kbps/1.6mbps
500mbps = T1 Broadband Connection of 500mbps which is used in a large working enviroment.
It's completely normal, and changing your system specifications doesn't increase your connection it all depends on the servers your downloading from, and how much upload speed they have for you to download of them.
Things to remember.
- The mbps IS NOT MB it's mb if you get say a 54mbps then you will recieve data transmitting from your router @ 5400kbps/5.4MBps. It's NOT 5400MBPS don't get confused!
- If a lot of devices are using your internet connection then the data that's recieved will be shared, but there are prioritys you can set. I.E port 1 is the main priority on data bandwith.
- Connected Via a eithernet cable would be the best option as data packets sent from your ADSL line are sometimes lost whilst using wireless on devices, which can actually cause .rar's to currupt if it's missed a packet it's suppost to download.
Good Luck.|||assuming that your connection is DSL- 786 KBPS
down - 0.78 mbps = 780 kbps - that is kilo bits per second so near max of your connection bit-rate
up - 0.36 mbps = 360 kbps
There are different technologies for dsl connections but it seems like yours is asymmetric - meaning your upload will always be slower than download (i.e. I have 30mbps DSL and my upload is 0.7 mbps).|||That depends on how far you are away from the exchange. With those figures I'd say at least 5-10 miles away.
