Is satellite internet THAT much slower than hi-speed DSL/ Cable/ etc.?

Like in a blind test, would I notice without being told it was slower.|||Satellite internet is perfect if you're in a remote region. It's also advisable for industries that require workers to be in remote regions i.e. mining and the military.

Here are some articles that may help you. http://www.articlemonkeys.com/Satellite-鈥?/a>

The main issue with satellite internet is that because of the distance, there will be latency problems. Also, getting one can be quite expensive. However, there are many good satellite service providers, like NewSat for example. They're reliable enough that the US Military is one of their clients.

Here are some things you should consider (pros) about satellite internet:

http://www.newsat.com/eNews/5-thingsyou-鈥?/a>|||it depends - what distance lies between your signal transmitter and the signal receiver - and which is the cheapest option?

If you imagine that there is a need for specific hardware to convert your transmission into a format that can be transmitted to a satellite (or even through a fibre optic cable/copper wire), there comes the point where it's cheaper to send it one way or the other.

For real-world companies, economics outweighs efficiency.
