Why my internet speed been Drained/slower?

I got DSL internet Speed 6.00 Mbps download and 0.41Mbps in the Test i run in "att.com/speedtest" and "speedtest.net" i keep getting 3.00 Mbps and goes down to 1.45mbps and sometimes .45 Mbps.


I had AT%26amp;T come and check the lines and they said the line test shows 8.12 Mbps on my line, He came into my house and check the speed with his laptop only and was getting 6.12 mbp. When he plugged my pc into the mix the speed when down to 2.00 Mbps and less and my friend made some test on what the modem and line is getting from the PC (Network) and it was showing 5.00-6.00 Mbps all the time. But every time i run a speed test with firefox and or Internet explorer i keep getting 2.00 mbp and less. I ran Kaspersky 2011 anti-virus and Ca Tune-up and even Spy ware stop programs to see if that was the issue and its not.I even ran a TPC optimizer and set it to 4 Mbps and still the same stupid slow speed.


I did another test on save mode with net working and i was getting the normal speed 6.21~ Mbps. So i got no idea what it could be. I checked programs and all so i ask if anyone had a problem like this? or, If you have any suggestions to see if it would change anything? (because i dont want to try reformatting my HDD and still not work %26gt;_%26lt;)|||The mere fact that you were getting the appropriate speed when connecting in safe mode suggests that you have "something" running during normal boot that is slowing you down.





My first thought on this is something leeching off of your connection. I would continue to look at the malware as a possibility.|||Use an internet optimizer like Reginout. Reconfigure the network related settings with it.
