The results show that my download speed is 320 kb/s and my upload speed is 313 kb/s. But when I download files like a PC game demo, it only downloads at a rate of 40 kb/s. It's been slow like this ever since we got DSL. I've checked for viruses with AVG and found none and I am having no other problems with my computer, everything seems to be running fine. Online games work good and webpages come up fast, so why is there such a slow download rate when downloading other files?|||You have to make sure you don't confuse Kbps with kb/s. They're two different things

Ignore the first part, when the test is completely done, near the bottom it will tell you something like this:
Download Speed: 6158 kbps (769.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1852 kbps (231.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
kbps is kilobits per second. KB/sec is kilobytes per second. There are 8 bits in a byte, the kbps will be 8 times higher than Kb/s. Kb/s is what you see when you download a file.|||If you use a download accelerator then you can easily speed up your download times since it will pull multiple parts of the same file at the same time.

|||The thing is your internet connection is 320 kbps (Kilobit per second ) which is equal to 40 KB/s (Kilo Byte) (1bite = 8 Bits 320/8 = 40) so there is nothing wrong with your internet connection.|||To fix slow connection, you had better clean you computer first.
Go to http://makepcfaster.info ,download a speedup tool,
