I want to make sure if I'm getting the correct speed I'm paying for. here my result from doing a speed test.
Download :190.68 kbps
Upload: 326.13 kbps
if it is wrong, what can i do to fix it?|||I assume you have the 768 / 384 plan. The upload speed is fine, but the download speed is not acceptable.
First, go to www.speedtest.net or www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/, and try a speed test to a location closest toward you. Try at least 3 times, and if you get atleast somewhere above 600 kbps you should be ok.
I would check your connection [if you are using your computer wirelessly through a router, try connecting directly to the modem and do a speed test].
Also, do a power-cycle [1. shutdown computer, 2. turn off modem and unplug, 3. wait three min, 4. reconnect everything, turn on modem and start computer, 5. check speed test.]
If those does not work, you may have to call att support and ask for help. I think 190kbps for 768kbps plan is not right.
Another possibility might be your distance from the at%26amp;t central office. if you are far away, like more than 50 miles, it might affect it, but highly unlikely.|||There is a very simple and easy to use applet located at http://www.voipreview.org/voipspeedteste鈥?/a> that will measure your connection speed and then display its performance graphically.
All you have to do is log on at your location and click the button to start the applet.|||Yes
