My mom is paying $14.99 for DSL when the speed is much slower than dialup. The download speeds are averaged around 22.3 KB/sec according to numerous speed tests. We've contacted AT%26amp;T about this problem and, well, support will be support. They did nothing. Does anybody know of any troubleshooting or fixes to try and boost the speed. Can't really afford any other high-speed internet.|||First make sure all of your phones have filters on them, even the phone line going to dishnetwork if you use that.
Make sure you have a splitter on the jack plugged into the DSL Modem.
Once you have done that, call back the tech support people. If they cannot fix it, request that they escalate to a level 2 tech. You are the customer, your are paying for service. Make sure the people you talk to understand that. IF they balk at helping you ask to be passed to the next person in line of authority.|||It may be their propietary modem that is slowing things down. Are they still using Westech? If so its one of the worst. Have them send you another modem.
